Bitch please
They are children at the threshold of language with these words they make up. It looked to me like an ectoplasm--something they had forced, by their joint will, to materialize on the table...

Sorry, what was I saying? Oh, right! Now it's time to play...

Who's going to pick the short straw--?!

Methodology Part 2

So I'm using a website called random.org twice to create this list and to draw the final number (it's actually a pretty snappy website if you need random numbers--more formal than informal, but functional for this project).

Here is a list of everyone who volunteered (I grabbed the journal name you commented with because that was quickest--please note that this does not lock you into using this character if you used a character journal).

As you can see, the numbers...seem a little off:

16 1. dude_imbatman-mun
12 2. floralities-mun
21 3. child_radical-mun
6 4. neverendingbeat-mun
3 5. worksmart-mun
8 6. guardianjoker-mun
18 7. favoritetraitor-mun
15 8. kirinofen-mun
5 9. callmelittle-mun
2 10. zombitard
7 11. adamantined-mun
1 12. sings4dragons-mun
9 13. doujin_dork-mun
20 14. lady_wandering-mun
14 15. letxequalnull-mun
10 16. thenormalsquint-mun
11 17. aimandfire-mun
17 18. alexis_castle-mun
4 19. egregiouslypink
19 20. makes_you_tick-mun
13 21. reginagloriae-mun

I used a feature on this website that will randomize a list of items. I entered your usernames in roughly the order in which you commented. This way, even the order in which you commented was randomized. So the number you really want to look at is the number on the far left.

Is everybody ready? I'm about to draw the final number for the winner ("winner")... Last-minute entries allowed, but will require renumbering of the list, so be aware!

And the random number is............

[Random List]Number 17: 18. alexis_castle-mun

Winner? Loser? I've no idea. But I've sent an LJPM sooooooo...please ping me here, via LJPM, via email (cateyed[dot]crow [at]gmail[dot]com), via AIM (cateyed crow), via...whatever your chosen method, and let's talk~

LIKEWISE! Anyone else interested in getting involved in other ways, feel free to talk here, to ping me, to arrange things, whatever you'd like.

I- But- How-

There is no way you didn't cheat on this. I don't even. NUMBERS NINE AND THIRTEEN FOR DEMYX.

This makes this plot a million times better even thought this is just the random number part. dkjfhdskjfhdskjfhasdkjf

I totally didn't cheat. I assure you. I should have screencapped the whole process, now that I think about it--too late now, I suppose. The random numbers fall as the random numbers fall.

Or maybe it's the whole Poisson Distribution thing.

We'll let the philosophizing commence.

Either way, random is as random does.

I actually do believe that you didn't cheat, and am teasing, but holy crap, appropriate numbers are HELLA appropriate.

I just looked it up. It involved lots of math, but I got the basic idea of what it was for. Cogito ergo spud. I think, therefore I yam.

Also, this means I contact you, yes? The list of names and 'winner' are confusing me a bit. Because I don't possess a brain for thinking in the summer.

It is pretty funny how they all fell out, isn't it?

Mm, well, actually Alexis Castle-mun won the drawing. It is a bit of a complicated system, but I wanted to make it as even and fair as possible, and random numbers seemed the best route.

Think of it like a raffle: you were all given a ticket number and then I drew a ticket number out of the list of existing ticket numbers to pick the winner. (I admit, having two sets of numbers in the list is confusing. The number you want to look at is the one on the far far left.) The random number assigned to Alexis Castle-mun's name (number 17) came up in the raffle, so she's the winning player in this round. (The whole "winner" in quotes thing is mostly a joke because I can't imagine any character in this situation thinking of himself or herself as a winner.)

However, I hope there will be other rounds to this whole plot, so stay tuned! And if you'd like to work out other plots relating to this one, feel free to drop me a line for that too!
14th-Jun-2010 04:41 am (UTC)
I have no idea if any of the others are significant or not. 8D'

Okay, wasn't sure! Alright, multiple rounds, got it. See, this is why I'm glad that I ask, at least. Although, I suppose the worst that would've come from this was an e-mail from me. Speaking of which, it's about time to spam Alex.
